First off, I'd like to say welcome to my blog! This is something altogether new to me, and to be honest I'm primarily using it to keep track of the contents of my canning pantry as well as the recipes I use, both for canning and for everyday cooking.
My father is a carpenter, and he so lovingly helped me out by building some sturdy shelves in my basement for storing canned goods. The shelves I had been using were built by my grandfather for holding my grandmother's quilts, so needless to say supporting the jars was beginning to cause the shelves to buckle...and me to worry!
Moving everything to the new shelves gave me the ability to take an inventory of what exactly I have, which I'm writing down on here so I can't lose it! (I have the terrible curse of losing pretty much anything I need to keep track of.)
